Handheld VHF radio R-002PP
The radio is designed to provide radio communications in stationary and field conditions with direct transfer by personnel.
The radio provides the ability to transmit and receive voice information and data (digital information) when operating at fixed frequencies (not antijamming mode) and in antijamming mode.
Antijamming mode of operation is intended to ensure the possibility of radio communication in the conditions of the establishment of intentional interference. Protection against intentional interference is provided by the use of a mode with a pseudo-random frequency tuning. The frequency tuning rate is 312.5 jumps per second. In the frequency hopping mode, the radio station provides the opportunity to work with the same type of radio or with other radio that are compatible with it according to the information exchange protocol in the common frequency bands.
When operating at fixed frequencies, radio communication with the radio of the old park is ensured.
The radio provides the ability to work in the following modes:
– single-frequency simplex (receiving and transmitting on one frequency when operating at fixed frequencies or receiving and transmitting on one set over the radio channel in frequency hopping mode)
– half duplex (reception at one frequency, and transmission at another frequency when operating at fixed frequencies, or reception at one set via radio, and transmission at another set via radio in frequency hopping mode)
– single-frequency simplex (half duplex) in one radio network and reception on duty in another;
– another economical radio reception;
– Introduction to the radio channel.
At fixed frequencies and in frequency hopping mode, the radio station provides the ability to transmit and receive:
– voice information from the telephone headset or directly from the transceiver;
– data with speeds of 1200, 2400, 4800, 9600 bps from a PC or from other devices via RS-232 interface;
– short alphanumeric messages;
– individual (selective), circular (group) and tonal call.
The next economical method is recommended to use to increase the operating time of the radio station from one battery pack without additional charge.
At fixed frequencies, language information is transmitted:
– in analogue form in the class of radiation F3, provides a combination of a radio station over the radio channel with radio stations of other types, in particular the old park;
– in digital form in the class of radiation F1. Conversion of language analog information into digital form is carried out using the CVSD method (delta modulation with variable slope). The speed of the converted speech information is 16000 bps.
In the FHR mode, voice information is transmitted only with the conversion to digital form (CVSD) in the emission class F1.
Speech information, converted to digital form, both at fixed frequencies and in frequency hopping mode can be transmitted with or without technical masking. Technical masking can also be applied during data transfer. Technical masking is provided by a masking device built into the radio.
The radio station provides a range of radio communication on a mid-terrain terrain in the parking lot and in the movement of an object equipped with a radio for at least 4 – 5 km. The shortened antenna is designed to improve the conditions for the use of a radio if necessary, the radio communication range up to several hundred meters.
The radio station has the opportunity to work on no more than 16 pre-programmed channels for operation at fixed frequencies (channels one through sixteenth), and no more than 16 pre-programmed channels in frequency hopping mode (channels seventeenth to thirty-second). The choice of the programmed channel is carried out by buttons from the front panel of the radio.
When working with a radio, it is possible to control and insert radio data from a PC, as well as from a device for storing and inserting radio data via an RS-232 interface.
The radio is powered from the battery pack with a rated voltage (7.2 – 7.4) V.
The VH551 battery pack is used when the radio is used at ambient temperature up to minus 20 ° C, and if the radio is used at ambient temperatures up to minus 35 ° C, the VH550 battery pack should be used.
