Chairman of the Supervisory Board of the League Yuriy Yekhanurov: Ukraine needs to introduce a special regime for lending to defense industry in a military time

The League of Defense Enterprises, which brings together more than 40 private defense companies, is in favor of introducing a special regime for lending to defense industry in Ukraine during wartime.

It is reported by Interfax-Ukraine.

The head of the League’s Supervisory Board, ex-Prime Minister (2005-2006), former Minister of Defense (2007-2009) Yuriy Yekhanurov emphasized the current and potential challenges of Ukraine’s defense capabilities during a press conference held in Kyiv on Tuesday. Demand to review the approaches of the authorities to the issues of lending to defense industry in time of war.

As the ex-premier noted, in the new conditions the state should provide for the Defense Forces, in his words, “specialized banking support” for the implementation of defense contracts and state defense order (DOS). “Settlements, lending in this area should be under the special control of both the government and the National Bank,” – he emphasized.

According to the head of the League’s Oleg Vysotsky, today the leadership of the League addressed the chairman of the NBU Council has already prepared a letter “on the special regime of lending to the defense industry during the war.”
