The League of Defense Companies of Ukraine, which unites over forty private producers of military products and dual-use goods, can become not only the initiator, but also the locomotive of the question of the transition to NATO standards of the Russian defense industry. Oleg Vysotsky, Chairman of the Board of the League of Defense Enterprises of Ukraine, Chairman of the Board of Directors of PJSC “NGO Practice”, commented on this in a commentary to the “Defense and Industrial Courier” news agency.
“As long as there is no state authority in Ukraine that would oversee, coordinate the policy in the sphere of domestic defense production, the League is ready to take on some of the issues that must be solved at the state level,” the interlocutor of the agency noted. At the same time, he specified that the consolidation of campaigns of the private sector “defense” and was created in order to solve problems and defend the interests of producers of defense industry.
According to the chairman of the board of the League of Defense Enterprises of Ukraine, the issue of standardization from the submission of the League is constantly discussed at the level of the NSDC.
“This year we will initiate and try to create a working group under the Security Council under the leadership of Turchinov so that it can unite those structures that are capable of” raising “and contributing to the solution of this issue,” said the interlocutor of the Defense Ministry.
Oleg Vysotsky reminded that last year the League actively discussed at all possible levels the issue of transition to NATO standards in the certification of defense products. He conducted a kind of “likebez” on the topic, so that from the theory to go to practice and move on. “We have an implementation plan. And when officials have already figured out the essence of the problem, I hope they will support the concrete actions we have proposed in this direction, “he said.
Answering the question of “OPK” whether the enterprises of the League can facilitate the creation of laboratories for the certification of products of manufacturers of air-conditioning manufacturers according to STANAG standard, Vysotsky noted that this is one of the ways to solve this problem. “For example, the NGO” Practice “has its own factory laboratory, and we will definitely offer it for inclusion in the general work. In addition, there are laboratories of quality control at other enterprises, as well as there are laboratories of the State Standard, Ukroboronprom, National Academy of Sciences, there are also polytechnic universities such as the KPI. It is necessary to unite the laboratory base, to create a standardization system according to the new rules. Then everything will work out. The task in principle is achievable. Just want to solve it and join forces. In two years it is possible to have time “, – summed up the chairman of board of the League.
According to Oleg Vysotsky, in order to make the transition to NATO standards in such a short time, “a will, a desire and a team of specialists who are ready to do this” are necessary.
Recall that in 2015, the President of Ukraine proclaimed a course to achieve operational and technical compatibility with the armed forces of NATO member states until 2020, one of his tasks – the transition to NATO standards (STANAG).
