National Aviation University

The origins of the university are in aeronautical courses organized by the Kiev Polytechnic at the end of the 19th century, and the independent history began in 1933: the Kiev Aviation Institute was founded by the Council of People’s Commissars of the USSR on the basis of the aviation faculty of the Kiev Polytechnic Institute.

Over the course of almost 80 years, more than 200,000 highly qualified specialists have been trained in higher aviation education institutions. Among them are well-known scientists, heads of aviation companies, enterprises, organizations and institutions that provide aircraft flights, maintenance and repair, passenger and cargo transportation.

Today NAU is one of the most powerful aviation higher education institutions in the world, where more than 50 thousand students are studying among them 1200 foreign students from 49 countries of the world.

Powerful scientific and pedagogical schools provide the opportunity to prepare not only specialists in the engineering field, but also economists, lawyers, environmentalists, translators, psychologists, sociologists, etc.

The educational process is provided by a highly-qualified scientific and pedagogical staff, consisting of 15 Academicians and Corresponding Members of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine, 270 doctors of sciences, professors and over 900 candidates of sciences, associate professors. Leading specialists from airlines and industrial enterprises are involved in the educational process. Among the teachers are 80 honored scientists and technicians and State Prize winners.
