Suspension of the resolution of the CMU on the normalization of profits in the production of weapons and equipment will affect the re-equipment of the army. Suspension of the CMU resolution on the profit margin in the production of weapons and equipment will affect the re-equipment of the army.

On February 21, at the Ukrinform agency, a round table was held “New risks of rearmament of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. Who will defend the Ukrainian defense industry? “, Organized by the “League of Defense Companies of Ukraine”

«– Domestic enterprises will not be able to provide the Ukrainian army with new models of armaments and military equipment (VTs) in case of suspension by the Government of the regulation on the normalization of profits in the production of defense products.»

This was stated by the head of the supervisory council of the “League of Defense Companies of Ukraine”, former Prime Minister and Defense Minister Yuriy Yekhanurov during a round table discussion at Ukrinform on “New risks of rearmament of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. Who will defend the Ukrainian defense industry? “.

“After six months of discussions, on January 12, 2018, the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine adopted a resolution on the standardization of profits in the production of defense products at the level of 5 and 30% (CMU Resolution No. 1093 dated August 23, 2017, ed.). Enterprises believed that they had an incentive to develop and that this year our troops will receive new defense products, and the country’s defense and industrial complex will become much stronger. However, on February 14, at the initiative of the Minister of Defense of Ukraine Stepan Poltorak, the Government suspended the operation of this resolution, which in fact acknowledged that obsolete weapons and military equipment will be issued this year “, Yuriy Yekhanurov noted.

At the same time, the chairman of the League board Oleg Vysotsky highlighted the fact that the rate of profit initiated by the League and DK “Ukroboronprom” 5 and 30% was supported by all members of the Interdepartmental Commission for Defense and Industrial Complex. However, now, due to the position of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine, there has been a “return to the old rules of the game”. “It’s possible that the Ukrainian Defense Minister was misinformed on this issue, because the current restrictions on profit making will not allow producers to invest in the further development of production and, accordingly, provide our armed forces with new samples of defense products,” he said.

The event was attended by: Yuriy Yekhanurov – Chairman of the Supervisory Board of the “League of Defense Companies of Ukraine”, Oleg Vysotsky – Chairman of the Board of the “League of Defense Companies of Ukraine”; Taras Pastukh – People’s Deputy of Ukraine, Pavel Kyshkar – People’s Deputy of Ukraine, Serhiy Zhurets – Member of the Board of the “League of Defense Companies of Ukraine”, Director of information and consulting company Defense Express; Oleksandr Yasinsky – General Director of the “League of Defense Companies of Ukraine”; Oleg Brushkovsky – Executive Director of the L“League of Defense Companies of Ukraine”; Igor Kabanenko is the president of the UA.RPA Company; Taras Yemchura – expert of the Independent Anti-Corruption Committee on Defense; Mykola Gorin – Head of the Department of Standardization and Cataloging of the State Enterprise “Ukroboronprom”.
