“After six months of discussions, on January 12, 2018, the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine adopted a resolution on the standardization of profits in the production of defense products at the level of 5 and 30% (CMU Resolution No. 1093 dated August 23, 2017, ed.). Enterprises believed that they had an incentive to develop and that this year our troops will receive new defense products, and the country’s defense and industrial complex will become much stronger. However, on February 14, at the initiative of the Minister of Defense of Ukraine Stepan Poltorak, the Government suspended the operation of this resolution, which in fact acknowledged that obsolete weapons and military equipment will be issued this year “, Yuriy Yekhanurov noted.

At the same time, the chairman of the League board Oleg Vysotsky highlighted the fact that the rate of profit initiated by the League and DK “Ukroboronprom” 5 and 30% was supported by all members of the Interdepartmental Commission for Defense and Industrial Complex. However, now, due to the position of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine, there has been a “return to the old rules of the game”. “It’s possible that the Ukrainian Defense Minister was misinformed on this issue, because the current restrictions on profit making will not allow producers to invest in the further development of production and, accordingly, provide our armed forces with new samples of defense products,” he said.
